Board Member

Bread of Life international is seeking Board members that are passionate and committed to alleviating hunger across Africa.  We are looking for Board members with legal, accounting, and technology expert background. As part of the Board member, she/he will advocate for and promote the organization and work closely with Chief Executive to establish plans, policies and strategies to achieve the mission and the vision of the organization.

The successful board member will guide and support the chief executive in all appropriate decisions and actions consistent with the policies and the standards of the organization and further provide resources and support to the Chief Executive in carrying out the mission of the organization. In addition, as part of the Board, she/he will work with Chief Executive in developing a long-range plan for organizational sustainability (fundraising plans, strategic plans, and resource development planning) and provide legal, fiduciary oversight and governance of the organization.

Development Manager

Bread of Life international is seeking an experienced Development Manager with knowledge of fundraising principles and practice. An experienced fundraiser with development support competencies will have an opportunity to work closely with Board and Management to develop, execute, and implement fund raising strategies for the organization to increase annual fundraising goals through prospect management, donor cultivation and stewardship.

This position leads annual fund giving and supports global fundraising and events. She/he manages mid-level donor relationships and supports fundraising efforts. This role requires a resourceful individual who is adept at strategic engagement with prospective donors and supporters. This includes research and prospecting donor information using database management database and other donation-related software.

Grant Writer

The grant writer will be responsible for creating applications for funding. This would include the applications to foundations, trusts, or governments to solicit funding for our cause. The candidate will be responsible for supporting grant application process by managing a checklist of application requirements, gathering relevant program details, and assisting with the writing process.

Candidate will be responsible for monitoring progress against grant commitments and communicating grant reporting deadlines and coordinate collection of information needed to meet reporting requirements. The position is crucial to the organization, since the performance of a grant writer may be directly influential for the amount of money collected.

The successful grant writer will work alongside the Board and the Fundraising Manager to execute fundraising strategies plans. They both ensure the organization meets its yearly financial goals. The successfully candidate should be familiar with using Fundraising databases – Foundation Directory and Donor Search.

Social Media Specialist

Bread of Life International seeks a highly motivated and creative candidate who will be empowered to enhance our online and mobile presence. The candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management of social media strategies, collaborating with the Web Designer to synchronize campaigns and to reach out to our supporters and donors.

The candidate will manage our social media platforms – Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Blogs. Successful candidate will assist in email marketing/ retargeting/fundraising campaigns using Mail Chimps, social media and other techniques to create awareness, and reach out to our supports.

The candidate will curate content for social media and blog posts to increase our online presence. The strategies will encompass digital mediums, such as Search Engine Optimization (SEO), putting videos together, google search, use of email/marketing strategies and track analytics using Google Analytics, and monster insights to report back to Management

Web Developer

Successfully candidate must demonstrate experience and ability to use the WordPress Codex effectively and efficiently and must clearly have a detailed portfolio to showcase their past projects. They must have a portfolio of incredible front-end work and show case past projects of design website that process electronic payments (credit or debit cards) and the use of a merchant a payment gateway.

Experience and mastery of HTML5, CSS3, PHP, JavaScript and JavaScript (jQuery/ES6) and back-end development using the following technologies: PHP, MySQL, WP REST API, JSON. Experience using third party tools such as GiveWP donation management tool and processing electronic payments through API/payment Gateway.

Successfully candidate has strong sense of web design and attuned to web principles including user experience and social media. The candidate must have good communication skills, project management skills, graphic design skills, deep understanding of user interface, design thinking best practices and more importantly has the ability to manage expectations every step of the way. A plus with experience using Agile Project Management tools such as Jira

Graphic & UX Designer

Bread of Life International seeks a highly motivated and creative Graphic and UX Designer candidate who will be empowered to enhance our online and mobile presence. The candidate will work closely with the Web Designer to help compliment the overall user experience and journey.

The candidate should have a strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of UI design techniques and passion for interaction design, excellent attention to details, analysis and critical thinking skills and good verbal and written communication skills.

A successfully candidate should be experience with HTML, CSS, and jQuery and Angular highly desirable and using the Adobe Creative Suite including, Illustrator, and Photoshop. A plus if candidate has experience using Agile Project Management tools such as, Jira

Digital Media Manager

We are currently looking for a creative individual to start our Digital Media Team.  The candiate must be passionate about social issues/hunger, a great story teller, compasionate, and a team player.

The successful candidate is expected to collaborative with Executive Leadership, Social Media Specialist, Web Developer and Graphic Designer to turn our stories into video (strong emphasis), blogs, social media, and print pieces.

The successful candidate should have strong skills with the Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, experience in digital content creation, video production,  photography, and various web tools connected with social media content distribution. 

The candidate must have the ability to quickly create exceptional written content and further take stories and produce content and narrative in various forms (print, video, social media, etc.).  Ability to work independently and collaboratively, track record of professional development including a personal portfolio and minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree are required.

Community Outreach Coordinator

The Community Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for connecting our organization to the outer world and the public. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing events, recruiting volunteers, and overall try to get the community enthusiastic and “bought-in” to the organization. The person will be responsible for promoting the mission and purpose of our nonprofit to the world. The candidate will work alongside the Fundraising Manager and Social Media Specialist
