Saana is a sweet and determined seven-year-old girl with a dream of becoming a teacher in the future. She is one of four children who have endured significant hardships. After the tragic loss of her father, Saana’s mother abandoned the family, fleeing to one of the big cities in the southern part of Ghana. Since then, Saana and her siblings have been left in the care of their aging grandmother.
Life for the family is incredibly challenging. With her grandmother’s advanced age and limited ability to engage in economic activities, providing for even the children’s basic needs has become a daily struggle. Despite these difficulties, Saana remains hopeful and focused on her education.

Her favorite color is green, reflecting her hope and aspirations for growth and renewal. Her favorite food is fufu, a traditional dish made from pounded cassava and plantain, which she enjoys whenever her family can prepare it.
